Project Rachel 

Healing from an abortion is often a long process. The experience is horrific, and the societal message to deny the pain is so strong that some women take extraoridinary measures to avoid dealing with the trauma. The typical participant attends a support group, follow-up group sessions and two retreats for one or more years. Each retreat in the Raleigh Diocese is attended by approximately 20 - 40 women and men who are 16-70 years of age. Some clients are referred to a counselor or therapist dependent upon their need to resolve related issues.

Your donations help us to:

•Maintain Yellow pages advertising - $3,600 annually

•Support telephone counseling through payment of phone bills - $1,800 annually

•Produce and distribute brochures and materials - $4,600

•Sponsor clients wishing to attend a retreat - $500 per person

•Project Rachel 2009 Goals

•Providing training for volunteers - $2,500

•Maintain current services offered to clients
